Spark Without a Fire

I wouldn't call it sunbathing. Though light present is from the sun, and I am bathing in its light, we're into purple dusky dusk. The period of the day where everything that's happened has switched into memory and there is only the present. Cicadas chatter and whir and a few Mourning Doves call out to each other across the valley, the frogs begin to stir. As I feel my body warming the grass beneath me, I smile, "I want to be starlight," "I want to be the night sky touching the earth," "I want to be a map to nighttime travelers," "I want to be the spark in the dark!"

I want to feel wet and cool and a kind of glamour that excludes no one and makes me feel like a rare bird with a rare plume. There are no eyes upon me all the creatures around me mind to themselves, and I delight as I feel myself blossoming in the twilight.

This has been one of my favorite rituals of summer, I found this bottle of biodegradable glitter suspended in aloe and though its implied use is after sunbathing, I use it to salute the possibilities of the night and tuck away the worries of the day. Day is Done is scrawled across the bottle and I throw it in my bag and traipse off into the woods finding the perfect spot to reset and shine.

A Note: I will sometimes talk about things that I've bought and how I incorporate them into my life. I like to buy as few things as possible, and make each purchase with as much consideration as possible to; what it is I'm buying, what the company stands for, what is the cost, it's packaging, and how much I plan on using it. I will never talk about something I don't like, or wouldn't actually use. I believe every purchase is a vote for a company and I try hard not to spend money on a company that doesn't exercise best practices. Also, if I ever were to be sponsored by a product in the future, I would mention it and hold it to the same standards!
